Real People. Real Support.

Larissa Davidson, CPA

Larissa didn’t plan on becoming an accountant - she took Accounting 101 as a Gen Ed at St. Mary’s College, and it just clicked. From there, she transferred to Towson University, earned her degree in 2012, and started building a career around helping small businesses make sense of their finances.

She founded AMD Accounting to do just that - with a focus on communication, practical advice, and a friendly, down-to-earth experience. Her favorite kind of work? Taking messy, tangled books and turning them into something clean and functional. Clients often say they appreciate her straightforward explanations - and that working with AMD feels approachable, not intimidating.

In addition to running AMD, Larissa also serves as the controller for a large equine reproductive clinic and co-owns Morgnec Auto Repair with her husband - giving her a unique perspective on the realities small businesses face.

She grew up in Kent County, graduated from Kent County High School, and now lives just a few miles from where she started — raising her family and running AMD in the community she’s proud to call home. Outside of work, she’s a mom of two, a dog lover, a self-taught quilter, and an avid reader. Her go-to advice: “If something big is changing, tell your accountant sooner rather than later. It’s so much easier to plan than to fix it after the fact.”

Sue Byerly

Sue is a lifelong Kent County local, raised on a farm near Turner’s Creek and a proud graduate of Kent County High School. She later enrolled at Chesapeake College, where she discovered that accounting felt a lot like solving a good puzzle — challenging but satisfying. After a few life detours, she earned her Associate’s Degree in Accounting in 2009.

Sue has spent years doing part-time bookkeeping for a local church while keeping an eye out for the right full-time fit. After 24 years as a marketing assistant at LaMotte Company, she found that fit at AMD Accounting, where she now keeps the books in order and the office running smoothly.

Outside of work, Sue enjoys reading, crossword puzzles, good music, and being outdoors — especially in her sea kayak. She lives just south of Chestertown in Queen Anne’s County with her partner, Stu, and their dog, Sazerac.

Merlin

Merlin takes his role seriously — greeting clients with a tail wag, monitoring the activity in the parking lot and reminding the team to take breaks (preferably outside). While he’s not licensed to prepare tax returns, he proudly serves as AMD’s unofficial Tax Emotional Support Dog, offering top-notch morale support during busy seasons.

He specializes in stress relief and considers attention his primary form of compensation. Merlin might not know much about accounting, but he’s still an essential part of the team.

🐾 Merlin is very friendly, but if you have allergies or prefer a pet-free visit, just let us know — we’re happy to make arrangements!
